Broke Sanity

Welcome to the end of the thought process ...

Karma Is A Bitch

As I sat watching the Super Bowl game between the 18-0 Patriots and the 13-6 Giants, I couldn’t help but wonder if they will get away with it. When my mother, a fellow Cowboys fan and probably the biggest source of my love for the Cowboys questioned my strong support of the Giants, I could only say one thing to defend my support of a tough division rival for my beloved Cowboys, “So long as the Patriots lose, I don’t care who wins the game.”

Of course that didn’t settle well with her, and as I began taunting my television in the final minute of the game I believe I made my point loud and clear to her. Any team that tries to cheat should not be rewarded with the Lombardy Trophy, it’s just that simple.

And to me it’s far worse for a team with as much talent as the Patriots to cheat than it would be for say, the 2007 Dolphins to cheat. The Pats didn’t need to cheat, they didn’t need to video tape the opponents sideline during a game for an edge, they already had the edge in Tom Brady, Randy Moss, and Wes Welker, not to mention a defense that ranked second in sacks to only the Giants this season.

And during the game, each time the G-Men got in Brady’s face I was elated with joy as he folded under the pressure, something he hadn’t faced very often thanks to his front five. Every pass that he over threw brought my dream one step closer to being reality, I hate the Giants as any true Cowboys fan does, but at least the Giants worked their collective asses off to get where they are tonight, on their way back to East Rutherford, New Jersey as the Champions of Super Bowl 42.

The one thing that made the game better for me, was that with one second left to play, a second that obviously signified the failure of the Patriots as the Giants had but to kneel the ball to end the game, the leader of the Patriots, coach Bill Belichick walked off the field and into the locker room, he didn’t even show his team the respect of staying with them as they swallowed what will undoubtedly be the toughest loss of their careers. He ran away to hide in a corner, what a coward!

Oh yes, karma does have a way of coming back on people, and what a way it had with the New England Patriots.
